Robert DE CARLE
« on: Sunday 05 February 17 10:10 GMT (UK) »
I am researching the De Carle family and have John De Carle born 1750 approx the son of Robert and Ann. I have also found a monument at St John Maddermarket which commemorates Robert, wife Mary and son Edward. Is anyone researching this family who can tell me whether there was more than one De Carle family?
Thanks

Hi

I know this doesn't answer your question, but, have you seen the records (re. De Carle) held by the NRO at http://nrocat.norfolk.gov.uk/DServe/public/searches/nroquick.htm

Mary wife of Robert that you mention at St John Maddermarket, also has a monument at St Mary's Baptist Church Duke Street. They baptized 5 children there. It reads she was 57 years old, died on the 10th of May 1821 wife of Robert buried 20th May

Plenty of info on FreeREG and Familysearch for the name De Carle/Decarle.

Robert married Mary SMITH 24 February 1784, St. Stephen'S, Norwich, Norfolk

Robert may have been Buried 13 Jan 1837 age 75 (birth c 1762**)
Does this fit with the monument info?

Son of Robert/Mary nee Smith, ELI buried 20 Nov 1793 age 3

There is a Robert DECARLE Baptised 25 Aug 1761 Heigham, Parents ROBERT/ANN

Had a quick look;
John DECARLE Married Ann SPORLE 28 Dec 1749, St Augustine, Norwich
