Alice Maud Neale
« on: Tuesday 07 February 17 09:33 GMT (UK) »
Hi Guys
I am trying to find information on Alice Maud Neale. birth year range 1891/5 from the Sheffield area she married Thomas Woodall in April 1915 in Doncaster  Adwick le Street Parish they had a son Stanley Thomas in 1917 and a daughter Rosanna  in 1918. After Thomas was killed in action in Oct 1918 their daughter rosanna died in 1919 aged 13 months.
We believe that Alice remarried twice 1st to Anton Philips whom she probably looked after serving as a V A D in WW1  the 2nd remarriage was probably to some on by the name of Muir.
I would be very grateful for any infomation as we are really struggling to find her.
  Regards
Katrina

Exactly what type of info are you looking for - her ancestry or her life after 1918?

Did you check freebmd for a birth to establish exactly where and when she was born?  In the range you give 1891 - 1895 there are no births in Sheffield but there are several Alice Maud Neale births elsewhere

You perhaps need to start by buying a copy of the 1915 marriage cert which will give you her age and her fathers name and occupation

No marriage in England between Woodall/Philips nor Philips/Muir

Are you sure about the details you are starting out with?

FreeBMD shows Woodall/Neale births around this time in both Doncaster and Dudley.

Thomas & Alice's marriage in Doncaster in 1915 is followed by births in Doncaster (Rosanna M in 1918 and a male in 1922).

The marriage of Albert Woodall and Ellen Neale in Dudley in 1915 is followed by births in Dudley (Stanley T in 1917 and another male in 1919).

So - are you sure that Stanley (born Dudley) and Rosanna (born Doncaster) were siblings, and were both children of Thomas & Alice?

There doesn't appear to be any marriage between Alice M Woodall and ? Philips in England and Wales - 1918 to 1930.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
