Hi
I've recently begun researching my ancestry and extended family. My sister's husband seems to have relations named Kinsella coming from Wicklow, Ireland. I'm interested in finding out more on their behalf.
What I know so far is that there's a James Kinsella (various spelling) born in 1834. He goes on to become a sailor/master mariner. Records of him can be found in the English 1871 Census docked at Liverpool on a ship called Crystal Palace. Additionally on the Scottish 1891 Census he's on a ship called Alice T docked in Ayrshire.
In 1854 James Kinsella marries a Maria Murray again in Wicklow and they go on to have several children. So far I've found four children and records for all births except Rose Kinsella.
Rose Kinsella (b1864)
Thomas Kinsella (b1867)
Sarah Kinsella (b1869)
Anthony Kinsella (b1872)
Anthony Kinsella was actually a crane driver at the Newport Dock Disaster in 1909 and is mentioned in the inquest. He's later awarded a medal for bravery before eventually moving to England to become a train driver.
What I'm most interested in finding out is James' birth and parents, as well as his wife's. I'm also actively trying to find any record of his travels and ultimately when and where he died.
If anyone can shed some light or point me in the right direction I'd much appreciate it. I do have an active subscription to Ancestry but have so far hit a brick wall with James.
Many thanks.
