Keyboard86 from Genes Reunited a while  ago. But there were a few Wests lived in Woking at that time and my Grandfather appears to be the only one who left to live in the midlands (although a few had lived in Battersea/Lambeth etc earlier). I was interested recently in Owen because I visited Brookwood and seeing Herbert's grave made me think someone must have buried him it was a grand headstone!

Sounds a much better option. My father (Herbert's brothers son)  inherited some money from the Woking West family and Herbert advertised in a London newspaper to find him. Think that may have been in the early 1950's so I made an assumption that this was Herbert. Doesn't pay to assume in this game!
