« on: Friday 10 February 17 14:04 GMT (UK) »
Looking for any info on Albert Cyril John Falkenstein and his service and battles fought in world war 2. All I know is he served as gunner with Royal Air Force volunteer reserve 356 squadron

Many thanks

His service record will be with the MOD; details of how to apply for a copy:

My uncle was RAFVR and a gunner; some years ago I sent for his service record.......he was moved around England like a billiard ball!     Now buried in a French churchyard with his crew.

No. 356 Sqn was flying B24 Liberators.
Besides Falkenstein, this man was also lost: http://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/2085013/

On 29th March 1945 we made a low-level attack on a well defended bridge on the Burma Siam railway. I was strafing gun positions from 200 feet when my turret doors flew off and I almost departed with them. No real panic when you are aged 22.
