Ann Hutt
« on: Saturday 11 February 17 17:35 GMT (UK) »
George Turpin of Finchingfield was to marry Ann Hutt in 1809, but his mother forbade the banns, 'he being not of age'. Also she was 10 years older than him which may not have pleased Mrs T. According to the census Ann came from Stock but I haven't uncovered anything else about her. Can anyone help?
BTW, Mrs T needn't have worried as they stayed together until George's death aged 77...

Geoff

No birthyears given

1861 shows George born 1791   and Ann 1781

Is Ann shown as a spinster on the banns?

Ann, daughter of Thomas and Mary Hutt, baptised in Buttsbury (which is very near stock, and she gives stock as her place of birth on the censuses) 20/10/1782.

I've got George's death in 1867, age 77 and Ann in 1868, age 88

The age at death would only be rough as someone born in 1782 would only have known their rough year of birth. It ties in with her place of birth on the census. There's no other Ann hutt being baptised then. She had a brother William varied a few years earlier.

Update: Thomas Hutt and Mary Norris married at buttsbury 4/6/1780
Mary Norris baptised to Isaac and susannah 5/10/1760
Isaac (baptised 21/10/1731) and Susanna Wensley married 5/10/1758 (buttsbury or stock)

Thomas Hutt baptised with his brother William, to John Hutt and his wife (not named) 29/3/1759. Doesn't say twins.
