Ezekiel Julians & Simon Symth (Ubbeston)

Good morning all,

I had a good day in the records offices of Suffolk and have nearly sorted out Ubbeston mill.  I do have a few questions that someone may be able to help with.

Ezekiel Julians owned the mill until 1840 when she was sold to Simon Smyth (I was wondering if there was any family connection there). Julians had been bankrupted in Shaddingfield in 1821 and the property there (a mill) was next owned by George Smith.  Was this all coincidence?


Also it appears that Juilans had moved to Ipswich?  Unfortunately I have not been able to locate him in 'swich, so any help there was be a great help!

There is a burial record in the above paper for an Ezekiel Julians age 65, interned at Ipswich Cemetery, 8 June 1859.

Would this be your man?

I can see that Ezekiel Julians is mentioned in the 1794 Directory for Shadingfield so the above death in Ipswich would not be the one you are researching as he would be born in c.1794

Wow, really useful n interesting stuff.

None of these men seem to be Shaddingfield EJ!!!.  Don't you just love the way the same names linger for generations in a family making it near impossible to untangle the history.
