Mullan Family - imperial hotel/garvagh
« on: Monday 13 February 17 10:08 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

I am trying to help my friend start tracing her irish side but she has limited information.

She has James Patrick Mullan b1912 Garvagh (died in England) and knows that his parents owned The Imperial Hotel in Garvagh but doesnt know the parents names except the mothers surname was Mccoll.

The only other information there is,is a farm called Mullan Mccoll in a town called Leisness (but probably spelt wrong) .

Any help would be appreciated

Regards

Kevin

Around the time of his birth the hotel was owned by Albert Moore.

The Imperial Hotel was in Garvagh from 1887 until 2009
This article refers to another MULLAN who "took over" the running of the hotel in 1962 LINK

Was Hugh born in Philidelphia?

This would have been Hugh's address at the time of the birth

Thanks

It only shows his row,it must have been a cut and paste.

I think the Mullan that owned it in the 60s is a red herring

1960s MULLAN may well be, but could also be a relative that "took over" the business?

familyroutes' birth looks good
Where was his year of birth found? It could be out by a certain amount

Also was he in England in 1939?
He may be on the register of electors which would have a date of birth
