Brixworth Union Workhouse
« on: Monday 13 February 17 16:47 GMT (UK) »
My 4th Great grand father, Thomas Cumberpatch is showing in the workhouse on the 1871 Census. Is there any inmate information anywhere that I can search for more details on him in there?
Thank you

The definitive website for workhouses is www.workhouses.org.uk.
The page for Brixworth is: http://www.workhouses.org.uk/Brixworth/

At the bottom of the page, it tells you that any surviving records are at Northamptonshire Record Office.

Thomas was 99 when he died in 1875.  He may have been receiving medical/nursing care in the WH infirmary

There's the Register of Deaths 1837 - 1914 (PL 2/212)

No sign of any Application Books for that date, or Indoor or Outdoor Relief books

While there are Guardians Minute Books, most paupers didn't appear in them. They are quite good for background information, though.

They're all listed on the National Archives site, but held at the NRO
