Frederic Marshall Baptism
« on: Wednesday 15 February 17 22:14 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I am searching for a baptism record for Frederic (or Frederick) Marshall, born in Beeford about 1864.  His father was David and his mother was Ann.  I have found him in the 1871 & 1881 censuses, but have found no other records that I can confidently pin on him.  Any help would be much appreciated,
Chris

Would a birth registration suffice or is that missing as well?

Do you know his mothers maiden name?

Thank you for your input everyone!

Yes that is Frederic in the workhouse in 1871, with brother David.  And Maria Renton was his sister.  His mother was Ann Elizabeth Marshall, nee Wood.

I have just learned that his father might not have David Marshall, as with his siblibgs, but someone unknown, which might explain some of the difficulty in finding records.  The birth cert seems to be missing, or else Frederic was known by another surname.  The search goes on!

Again thank you everyone!

Chris

Hi Chris,

Marriage at Beeford,
10 May 1858, David Marshall age 20yrs, Bachelor, Servant, of Beeford, Father Thomas Marshall, Labourer, & Ann Elizabeth Wood, age 20yrs, Spinster of Beeford,  Father Robert Wood, Labourer, by me R W Marriot, Curate, witnessed by Alexander ????? Mary Ann Watson & Selina Wood.

08 Jan 1863, Baptism, Frederick Henry Wood son of Ann Elizabeth Marshall, Widow by R W Marriot, Curate.

From the above i guess David died very young so possibly Ann Elizabeth remarried hence the children in the Work house, There was no other baptisms for Marshall in Beeford.
