Elizabeth Luckhurst [daughter of William Luckhurst and Joan Prior] & John Beale of Crosley Wood Wadhurst m 08 Nov 1687 Wadhurst.

For some strange reason I am unable to locate the baptism of any children to the couple.

I did locate a John & Elizabeth Beale at Frant but they had births earlier than the 1687 marriage date.  I do realise there could be illegitimate children but nothing in the marriage record indicated the bride or groom were of another parish.

In eager anticipation. ;D

Hi,

It seems entirely reasonable to simply conclude that the couple was childless. We're used to seeing multiple children born to couples at that time, but I'm sure there were more than a few who had no children - for a variety of reasons.

There are burials for Elizabeth's at Wadhurst:
Elizabeth Beall w John builder 14 Dec 1707
Widow Elizabeth Beale on 20 Dec 1747 at Wadhurst.

Unfortunately John Beale/Beall seems to have been a very popular combination of names at this time in Wadhurst, I found the following burials in the period:

Old John Beale buried 16 May 1704
Widower John Beall bured 16 Apr 1708
John Beall buried 10 Apr 1709
John Beall buried 05 Feb 1710 (1711 in SFHG) old builder poor
Old John Beall buried 26 Jan 1726 (1717 in SFHG)

All that probably muddies the water.  :o
