Consular Records
« on: Saturday 18 February 17 17:39 GMT (UK) »
Hi All

Can anyone point me in the right direction.

I am looking for the death record of a Helen McDonald born circa 1827 Crieff Perthshire

She was married first to a John Gow who died Alexandria Egypt 8th Oct 1867.
She then married a Charles Scott who died in Perthshire May 1893.

I know that Helen spent time in Liverpool as half her children to John Gow were born there the rest being born in Egypt. I also know that Charles Scott was in Egypt as well and that as he was born in the same area as John Gow it is very possible that they all knew one another.

I cannot find a death for Helen in the UK so it is possible that she died in Egypt.

Yours Aye

Does his death cert show her as deceased?

OK so she is deceased by May 1893.  But what is the last date you know her to have been alive (and where)? Does she appear in any census in Scotland or England?

Hi All

I have had a proper dig through my old paperwork and have found notes to the following:
Helen was in Dundee on the death of her son when she signed the death register on the 15th Aug 1864.

Her son David was born 1867 at Al Iskandariyah Alexandria Egypt 1867
She is listed as deceased on her son William's marriage cert August 1882
