Looking for information concerning my 4th great grandfather John Handcock

Death JULY 17,1808 • Coldridge, Devon, England

I have an image of his marker
I believe his parents were John Handcock b 1683 and Margreat Bragg (Some say Briggs).  I have their marriage May 1, 1717 in Coldridge, Devon, England and they had two other children that I know of at this time. Richoard Hancock b 1719 and Samuel Handcock Birth 1724 • Winkleigh, Devon, England

John's wife was :

Grace Scott- I have no info about her parents.

I have an mage of her marker

I believe there were two children but that seems a small number.

Grace Hancock 1748–1783 (death date unconfirmed)

Are you saying that Grace SCOTT born 1702 was the wife of John HANDCOCK born 1717? This would be quite unlikely as Grace was 15 years older than him and then apparently had two children at the age of 46 and 50.

Sorry for the slow reply.  I seem to have missed our comment.

I have an image of the marker for John Handcock birth about 1717-1808 and his wife Grace Handcock who passed in 1788 age 86. 

The marker lists two grandchildren who passed as children and James fits the info we have.  The grandchild Ann who passed in 1790 at what appears to be 13 doesn't fit what we have seen.  We thought they were children of John Handcock 1752-? and Ann Leach 1755-?.

I agree the ages seem odd for having children. 

Some detail was gleaned from this site  http://www.coldridge-village.co.uk/hancock-2.htm  and some from the mentioned book on the Handcock line but there are certainly gaps.

Need a trip to Devon for more digging

Grace TANCOCK daughter of John and Grace was baptised there, 28 Sep 1748
but
John HANCOCK son of John and Grace was baptised 13 Aug 1752

Are you sure they are the same family.
