FREE D-Day Tours Planned for All Surviving Veterans

Free of charge 6 day tours are planned for March, April, May and September 2017 for all surviving D-Day veterans so that they can travel to Normandy to pay respects to their fallen comrades.  This will be funded by the government.  Veterans can go with a family member and carer  and the tours will be supported by a medic and Royal British Legion Guide.  Veterans wishing to participate need to apply to Arena Travel 01473 660800,

I have read in a newspaper today that 'four times as many veterans than ever before' will now taking up this free trip offer. 

Veterans will also now be offered a chance to visit the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire on the anniversary of D-Day in June.  This is thought to particularly suit those less able to travel abroad.  See contact details in previous post.

If any of the veterans who are going, are reading this, I would like to wish you all the best and hope you have a memorable trip. Thank you for all you have done to protect us in this country all those years ago. :)
