Samuel Cordell marriage to Ellen Brown
« on: Tuesday 21 February 17 12:30 GMT (UK) »
Ok so I am hoping somebody here may be able to help me hunt down the marriage of Samuel Cordell and Ellen Brown.  The first and second child were born in Cork, Ireland, and the third in Limehouse, London.  The first child was born in 1854 so I would imagine they would have married around then.  The only problem is I am unsure if they married in Ireland or London.  Ellen Brown was born in Ireland and Samuel was born in Limehouse.  I don't know why they went over to Ireland either.  I have found several different ways to spell Cordell also which is not helpful.

Thanks 😀

A bit of information here - but not much Irish information apart from Ellen's baptism.

Having searched earlier and today with no success, I am posting this for reference and perhaps someone may be able to help.

Ireland Select Marriages show a marriage 31 March 1853, Cork between Robert Seymour and Ellen Brown. It is not shown on Irish Genealogy nor Irish Catholic records.

There are baptisms for children to this couple, Anne and Robert which would fit with the older children show in 1861.

What happened to them after 1861?

It could be that they didn't marry. If by any chance they were Seymours and Ellen, her mother and the children travelled to London, that would solve the issue of why he was in Ireland - because he might never have gone there. ???
