Sebastian Bond Hosgood 1861 Census
« on: Sunday 26 February 17 10:50 GMT (UK) »
Hi Guys,
I'm struggling to find the 1861 census for Sebastion Bond Hosgood. Sebastian was born in Exeter, Devon in 1800 and died in Cardiff in 1875. I've found the 1841, 1851 and the 1871, but can't find the 1861. Any help would be greatfully received. Regards, David
Parker

What was his occupation and was he married in 1861?

There's an S B age 61 in Dartmoor prison but pretty vague and born Yarnscombe Devon.

S B was unmarried and a labourer.

He moved to work in the Bute Dock foundry Cardiff in 1863, described as late engineer at the Neath Abbey iron works.

I can only guess he was travelling on census night in 1861

Hi, Mabel, thanks for your reply. Yes agree. Not everyone is going to be in when the enumerator turns up. It stands to reason we will have some missed out census records for people. kind regards, David
