William Tonks - missing marriage
« on: Sunday 26 February 17 17:35 GMT (UK) »
In 1848 William Tonks a dresser and widowed married Sarah Westley in West Bromwich. I am not able to find his first marriage. William Tonks (baptized under the name Griffin) was born in Walsall in 1814, father Charles Tonks, a gardener. I have tried to find a census record for 1841 but without any success either. Any help appreciated, Christina

Did he have any children from his 1st marriage? That may help find his first wife :)

There are birth registrations for Henry & James (1839 & 1841) which would tie in with 1851 with mmn Johns

If the family in 1851 is William, Sarah, Henry and James then the two children both born before1848 have a mmn of johns.
