I watched it this afternoon as it was too wet and miserable to do anything else, plus I was waiting for a delivery. An enjoyable programme, am I mistaken or have they changed the formate slightly?

Yes. Bugger all research in this one. They seem to have turned it into Long Lost Family MkII. Pretty boring to be honest.

I think we have to remember that it is an entertainment programme rather than a family history one. They did explain how Scottish certificates gave more information and made it easier to check they had the correct family.

It'll be 8 new ones, 7 repeats and 5 old ones with a tweak to make us think it's new!

I have to watch TV or miss it. No recording here and can't use iplayer (poor broadband, ancient PC, no speakers).

I watched it - good one today, but I did zone out quite a bit, so maybe the format has changed ... beneficiary who had been told her mum was dead.  Her mother would've been the beneficiary - but as her mum was dead the heirhunters found her .... and all her half siblings she never knew existed!

Other one was strange too, only I'd zoned out - d4mn that new format, eh!

I was glad to see that Fraser and Fraser were still involved, I rather thought that Neil Fraser had told us he wasn't happy with the programme now.

Thought it was interesting yesterday that they talked about the forced child migration and the big investigation into it stared this week.

Good morning,

Just watched an episode this morning, really interesting. Not sure if it was new or repeat as I missed the first few minutes.

They were following an estate in Scotland where an elderly man had died and left no heirs as he never married. No aunts, uncles or cousins surviving. In England  that would be an end to it and the treasury would get the money.

In Scotland however they are allowed to go back a further generation. I won't tell you the what happened, you may be watching later but it was an interesting outcome.

Then there was a lady in London who they could find no heirs for initially. It ended well but with some surprising and sad elements.
