Hello.

I'm trying to find out a bit more about this man,who I believe was my gg uncle. He appears on the 1881 as follows:

Thomas Smith b1814 Courthope,in Hollingbourne Workhouse.Piece933 Folio137 p7.

I'm not sure where Courthope is,i cant find a reference to it on the other census, although it does come up automatically as Kent on the searches.I would be grateful for anything anyone can find on him,his birth, any earlier marriage or census returns,or even what area Courthope is in.

Many thanks.

Nel.

Just a bit more that I do have.

Thomas partner in 1881 was my gg aunt Ellen Harriet Jacob. Her birth is registered in Faversham O/N/D 1851 volume5 p194.I have been unable to find a marriage for Thomas and Ellen.

I believe Thomas death is registered in Hollingbourn J/F/M 1883 aged 68 volume2a p438.

In O/ND 1883 Hollingbourn Ellen marries Jacob Coulter using surname Smith volume2a p1256.

Her death is registered in Faversham Ellen H Coulter Dec1926 aged 75 volume2a p1201.

Thanks.
