William and Hannah RICHARDSON, NSW
« on: Wednesday 01 March 17 07:47 GMT (UK) »
William RICHARDSON was born 1810 in Brede, Sussex, England. He married Hannah FULLER in 1829 at Brede. In Oct 1837 they along with four children arrived in Sydney on the Augusta Jessie. Two more children were born in Sydney.

William was listed as a labourer and Stone cutter on the shipping list.

A number of trees on Ancestry have his death in 1876 as William John RICHARDSON, but there is no sign of him in the NSW BDMs either as William or William John, so have no idea where that information came from. No sign of Hannah's death either.

Some of the children moved north into southern Queensland so its possible William and Hannah moved that way as well.

A fresh pair of eyes might find something I can't.

Thanks
Ian C

Is this the right William and Hannah Richardson?
Camden News 2March1939 http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/141151824 (last column)
William and Hannah Richardson came from Sussex, England, to Australia in 1837, with their son Thomas D. Richardson, the father entering the employ of the Oxley family at Kirkham. In 1855 Thomas leased a farm at Cawdor, and in 1877 purchased property at Elderslie and established an orchard. The late George J. Richardson, ex-president of the Nepean Shire Council, was a grandson of the original settler.

Thanks everyone so far.

William's parents were Thomas and Mercy.

Yes William Henry was a son, and Thomas D.
