does anybody know what papers existed between 1870s- to 1923. looking for the insert from the duke of sutherland looking for his grandson.
Scotlandorkney flett bell, strickland laird traillcalqahoun.
Lanark/Argyll/Renfrew/Ayr:Smith, Steele,Kirkwood,Hamilton,May,orO'mayscott and anderso, craig , forbes taggart Kirkwood, milloy and steel apart ftom others which are numerous, graham mcilroy. stewart.brown battonisle of sku rothsay etc.

Two spring to mind Marcie.

1.   The Edinburgh Evening News  -  First printed in 1873 and still published 6 days a week.

2.   The Scotsman  -  First printed in 1817 same as above.

The Scotsman is not just an Edinburgh newspaper but is widely available all over Scotland and beyond.

My thoughts would that the Duke would advertise in the Scotsman as it was a more upper class newspaper.

I have found the scotsman they have a research team, so I have written to them and waiting for an answer.
