McCloskey/Gault
« on: Wednesday 01 March 17 18:49 GMT (UK) »
Hello, wondering if anyone can help me.

I've had a copy of my great-great grandparents birth certificate for quite some time now, and I've only just noticed that it lists my grandfather's condition at time of marriage as 'widower' something I never heard tell of! I have searched high and low and have been unable to find a previous marriage for my GG grandfather, David McCloskey!

Any help would be appreciated if anyone else has any records!

They are David McClosky and Bella Gault, m 10th May 1917 at Macosquin Presbyterian

She is Isabella Gault, of Castleroe, Coleraine

I have him as David McCloskey, b 4th July 1890 around Ballykelly/Limavady to John McCloskey and Susan McCloskey nee Davison.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Possible previous marriage to Jane Mary Madden on 13.5.1913 at Derrymore Presbyterian church. Townland was Lisnagrit. Father John a labourer.

Possible death for Jane on 3.10.1916 in Drumballydonaghy of phthisis. “Wife of a labourer”.

Thanks for the info! makes a lot of sense!

i think it figures that both children died before their time, and now that i think of it, I recall my great uncle talking about two older children dying but I just assumed it was siblings of his, but it must have been siblings of his father!

Thanks again!

My mother is thrilled to have a proper marker for her grandmother's gravesite, Mary McCloskey McNicholl. Thank you to all that helped with the birth  and death date information. A shout out to gaffy! Thank you.  Mother's day flowers are being sent to St. Josephs' in Glenlullin as well.

We celebrate Mother's Day (Mothering Sunday) here in the U.K. earlier but lovely to hear that headstone is in place and flowers will be there. Let me know if you need a photo taken.
