Thomas R Owens
« on: Thursday 02 March 17 19:56 GMT (UK) »
I am researching the family of Thomas ((Richard?) Owens born 1921 in Liverpool.  He had a brother,William and 2 sisters, Madge and Olive M.  Thomas married Elizabeth Cruden in 1944 and she is a mystery.  I have sent for the marriage cert. His mother was Edith?  Anyone know this family?

FreeBMD shows the births with a mother's maiden name of Howes?
(Olive M 1924, Madge 1919, Thomas R 1921, and William A 1923)
All registered in West Derby.

Which leads to the parents marriage:

Elizabeth Munro Cruden was born 1922 in Scotland - birth registered in Kilmadock - see Scotlands People      https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/search-our-records

She died 1983 in Liverpool full birthdate 17.12.1922 but birth registered after Christmas so registered 1923 when you search

thanks to KGarrad info - John Owens married Edith Howes at All Saints church in ,Stoneycroft,Liverpool. (  www.lancashirebmd.org.uk  )  (marriage and birth records )
Madge b 1919
Thomas R B 1921
William A B 1923 - these 3 are registered in Wavertree area of West Derby Registration office
Olive M b 1924 is registered in Liverpool ( city centre area).

I was registered Wavertree area - so the 3 oldest children are from within 5 miles of Garston where I live .
it then looks like they have moved towards the city centre area
Madge marries during WW2 in 1940 to F J Hepworth in North Liverpool
Olive M marries in North Liverpool to F Colville 1946.
William A Owens - far too many options for marriage in Liverpool

There is an 1881 marriage in Caernarvon on FS - Thomas Richard Owens - spouse Jane Williams
if Thomas was 34 bachelor in May 1918 - he would have been born 1883/4 so that marriage looks a good possibility CaroleW...

Only family I can find in 1891 is living in Hunslet Yorkshire but a GRO search of John Owens births mmn Williams 1884 +- 1yr has too many possibilities

OWENS, JOHN  1883  J Quarter in BANGOR  Volume 11B  Page 541
OWENS, JOHN   1883 S Quarter in CONWAY  Volume 11B  Page 479
OWENS, JOHN   1884  M Quarter in ANGLESEY  Volume 11B  Page 480
OWENS, JOHN  1885  S Quarter in CONWAY  Volume 11B  Page 491
OWENS, JOHN 1884  S Quarter in ANGLESEY  Volume 11B  Page 541

The 1891 entry is John Owen b 1884 Llandenniston??  Youngest child is Maurice Thomas b 1890 Leeds and GRO maiden name search shows mmn Williams - it also confirms surname as Owen - not Owens

Thomas Owen 29 b Caernarvon general labourer
Jane 28  b Anglesey
Henry  9 b Llandenniston, Wales
John    7 b Llandenniston, Wales
Maurice T     9mths b Leeds
