Freereg, Familysearch and Norfolk Transcription Archive are all free and have reasonable coverage. Have you checked any or all of these?

Yes, I have checked the records on Familysearch, but have been unable to find him.
I can find some of his children's baptisms, but not his.

Where did you get the information that he was born in Diss?

You might need to widen the search.   :-\

Free reg has a John Richman Waller baptised 29 July 1753 to Luke and Jemina Waller at Scole St Andrew, which is adjacent to Diss

Freereg has a few baptisms for John Wallers around the right time frame. You could check to see how they fit in location wise. Depends on what documentation you have which says he was from Diss ...

Thank you, I have already tried FreeReg but couldn't find him, have just tried the Norfolk Transcription Archive, he isn't there as I didn't know about that. I will now try and widen my search as suggested.
I assumed that he may have been born in Diss, Norfolk as his some of his children had been baptised there.   But he actually married in London to a Hannah Nightingale, he lived in the parish of St. Leonard's, Shoreditch, his first two children were born there, before moving to Diss. Perhaps I should look there as well.

Although not set in stone, a couple usually married in the bride's parish, so it may have been Hannah who was born in "London". Although there are a high percentage of Wallers in Norfolk, they are reasonably widespread in the NE and SE, so John could have come from anywhere.

Thank you, I am going to look again through all the usual web sites, plus see if I can find any more information out on John and Hannah's marriage.
