I cannot verify that uncle Peter Anderson Symington ever went to the United States ,so why he would be named as Andrews contact there is beyond me .I know for certain that he marries in 1907 in Scotland had 5 children ,and ran a painting and decorating business in Scotland along with his father ,He died in Scotland in 1960 so I cannot understand why he would be in the States

The Canadian National Railway CNR has a railcar sorting facility in Winnipeg called Symington Yards.  Wonder whom it's named after.

Symington Yards named for Herbert James Symington 1881-1965, a CNR director.

LAC military record for Andrew Symington is now available online.

http://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/discover/military-heritage/first-world-war/personnel-records/Pages/item.aspx?IdNumber=261807

It takes a little while for the whole military file to download...

Quick look through shows that his full name was Andrew Watson Symington (see page 33/48).  Parents - he doesn't know if they are alive.  Next of kin is brother Peter Symington c/o Thomas Hill, Cobden, Ontario.

On page 9 of 48, it says that the new next of kin is Miss Sarah Symington c/o Mrs Robertson, 13 Park Ave, Dundee Scotland.  On page 39 of 48, it says that the next of kin is "sister" Miss Sarah Symington c/o Mrs Moyce, 25 Rosefield St, Glasgow.

Hopefully, this military record can help you determine whether this Andrew and Peter are yours.

I have now found Andrews death in Wichita Kansas in 1928.I have no evidence that Peter ever left Canada and there must be a record of his death somewhere .Maybe the next census release will help pin him down.
