Arthur Crook/Thetford & Watton Times 1926
« on: Friday 03 March 17 17:21 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I am trying to find a report from a County Court case involving Arthur Crook in April 1926. It was reported in the Thetford and Watton Times  on April 10th 1926. Does anyone know where else I can get  report of this case as I need to know when Arthur's accident took place.

Thanks

Paul

Hello Paul,

I tried to find the report you mentioned on 10 April 1926 but couldn't

There is a full report in the same newspaper on the 24 April 1926, which states the accident had happened on the 4 November 1924.

Essex Newsman Chelmsford 13 November 1926.
Petty Sessions Court
George H Tookey, Coburg Road,Wood Green. Charged with driving in a dangerous manner----
Mr. Arthur Crook, builder, South Green was motor cycling from Laindon to Billericay. He had practically crossed the arterial road ----------
Its on find my past, but I don't have a sub to read the rest.
However now you know it was in the Petty Sessions Court and the approximate date, ask the Essex Record Office where such files are kept.

Hi Paul, Would this be the same Arthur Crook buried in Merton church yard ?.
Thetford Library have Thetford and Watton times on film reel and can be viewed there, I am often checking through them. Not sure where you are but if you are local then would be worth a  phone call to check if they have those dates and then visit, if not let me know, I will have a search on my next visit.
