Lawrence Clifford Hunter
« on: Saturday 04 March 17 10:36 GMT (UK) »
Good morning everyone.

I  am trying to find what happened to Lawrence Clifford Hunter and his wife Emily Catherine Horley.
after they were married 10/5/1919 at St John's Church, Leamington Spa. Lawrence  was aged 21 from Sutton Verney, Wiltshire a soldier  father George (market gardener)

I have not been able to find Lawrence in any census but I did find a Lawrence Clifford Hunter birth 1898 Kadina, South Australia parents George Hunter and Alice Elenor Hoare.

I can not find them in 1939 register or any deaths so maybe they went abroad.

There is an Emily hunter death aged 91 in 1991 Sefton South born 19/2/1900 but I have found her in 1939 and she is married to a William that makes her a different Emily as the child with them mother's maiden name is not Horley.

Hello
The Lawrence Clifford Hunter you mention from South Australia remarried 14.1.1922 was a widower to Ethel Maud Lawrie widow age 24 d of William Horace Noble at Norwood South Australia res of Rev W Beiler Collage Park.

He had been in the Army joining up 18th April 1916 cycle repairer from Watervale in the 17th Infrantry Battalion. So could have come to Britain

He died 14 Aug 1966 at Mintaro Clare south Australia. It's the same address he's on in 1941 as a mechanic with Ethel Maud Hunter.

And there is a death for Emily Catherine Hunter at Waterville aged 20 28th Nov 1920

So it looks like them

His service record has a certified copy of his marriage at Leamington on 12 May 1919, he had been on leave in UK Feb/Mar 19 and again in April 1919 until leaving for Australia on 26 July 1919 with his wife on the "Demosthenese" arriving 12 Sep 1919 and discharged Oct 1919.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,
