Hello Rosie
Thanks for that I am in a state of confusion on this line so ruling one out is good I now only have 3 lol. Can I please just run something by you for your expertise.
The LDS have a pedigree on for the Timms/Tymms and other spellings family.
I have found William Timms my great great great grandfather was born in Chipping Norton 12.07.1812 with parents John and Elizabeth. He was a policeman in London when his son was born and then he was a stone mason by the time his son married in Hereford.
All his brothers and sisters except for Clam (male) 30.07.1826 and him are on this pedigree with parents John and Elizabeth Timms nee Watkin.
They seem to have mixed up 3 John Timms and I can't unscramble it.
John Timms they have got marrying Elizabeth Watkin was born 1784 Ascott Mason with sons Frederick and John. On the 1841/1851 census HO107 891/5 page 2, HO107 1727/331 page 48 his wife was Caterine?
John Tymms also born Ascott a Mason 1776 he's a widower living with his daughter Amelia Chaundy a retired mason. HO107 878/2 page 1, HO107 1732/229. The John I found with daughter Amelia was a John Tymms and his wife was Frances Milton who he married 23.10.1800 at Ascott Under Wychwood.
John Timms 1782 as a wife Elizabeth also 1782 and they have children still at home of Clara, Mary and James which all fit with the Weslyan chapel family at Chipping Norton 1841 census HO107 879/11 page 11. I think Elizabeth died 1845 aged 62 and I think John died 08.03.1851 in Taynton
So nothing to say he was or wasn't a mason and neither lived to get on the 1851 census.
I think Elizabeth Watkin was from Hereford? marriage 13.02.1809 @ Aymestrey St John & St Atkmund Herefordshire.
The pedigree is on John Timms 1784 so it's well and truly confused me. I even emailed the LDS but they referred me too websites.
Hoping against hope that I am on the right branch. Thanks for all your past help
Eileen
