Hi
Can't find    James  Tasker/Winifred  Roberts on NWBMD  or Free BMD .  I think they got married about 1876 . Perhaps it was her second  marriage  Oh dear.  Can't find them  on 1901 census either.  Got the family 1911.

thank you for your  help

Regards
 Peony

Current theory:

A Winefred Roberts married a John Evans, 2nd Q, 1866, St Asaph * 11B, 690

A Winifred Evans possibly married a Robert Hughes, Corwen, 2nd Q, 1873, 11B, 655

I think we might be looking at the same entries HT. I see a marriage in Farnham Sept Q, 1877 but name is Winifred Evans.

I'm wondering if this was a second marriage as she would have been approx 34 in 1877.

Need to check censuses and deaths for spouses  - it's a bit of a muddle  :-\

Agreed - I was expecting Evans as GRO maiden against the younger daughter after spotting 1877 marriage. The Hughes maiden name threw me threw me and shd have checked the elder daughter before posting - which delivers Evans.

Marriage cert needed.

It's all very confusing, as I think I've found the John & winifred Evans in Abergele in 1871 but she's down as b. Llansannan so that marriage is probably not the one.

Agree that the 1877 marriage cert is needed.

Just a possible - I wonder if,  when  the second daughter was registered, the registrar asked for mother's maiden name and Winifred gave her mother's mn  :-\

The GRO ref is
1842, Sept Q, Corwen, vol 27, page 144
Mother's maiden name - Hughes

Have been searching for the '81 Census. It doesn't contribute anything to solving the present puzzle but, for the record, the 1881 Census surname has been transcribed incorrectly (FindMyPast) - "Parker" rather than "Tasker" - ref RG11  658  36  2
