Hi, it certainly looks like a Dragoon Guards cap badge

Frank.
He was, he was on the Palestine service list as Dragoon Guards which I should have saved a picture of!, but other than him being there I have no idea where else he may have been, how do I go about obtaining his entire service records? is there no way to do it on here for free? I have his death certificate at my Grandads house

The website to use is:
https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military-service-records/overview

There is a fee of £30; which is waived if his wife is applying.
These records are not available anywhere else!
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Hi, no, as rosie99 and KGarrad have kindly said, you will have to apply to the MOD for his records.

Frank.  :)

An apology from me for querying your choice of board, I was thrown by your reference to a medal record which is a Great War record in the same name.

Good job there are other folk from Rosie99 downwards more alert than I am today!

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

Dunce you are not  :)   All I can do on military records is point people in the direction of WW2 records.  Your military knowledge far exceeds that  ;D

I'm sure it was a service medal, i really don't have a clue.... I've completely lost the page and have searched everywhere, if anyone would be kind enough to locate it for me that would be much appreciated!

You have both quite made my day, so very kind of you!

nayngnottz94 - the Great War record for George Thomas Denham is on Ancestry BUT had I been awake I'd have noticed that he died in Salonika in August 1916. I suggest you forget that as, as friends have said, WW2 records are not on line
