Have only just seen your post re Quetta so thought I would add the fact that our dad was in Quetta in 1942. He was a Sgt. in the RAF mainly involved with communication and logistics from what we can gather. He was with 82 squadron.
He also spent time in Burma and did talk about Catalinas, though he hardly spoke about anything else at all from the war years.
Anyway, just thought that you may be interested in a book that came out last year....titled Burma '44 by James Holland and published by Bantam Press...we found a photo of dad in this book!
