Mary Margaret Kathleen JOBSON - India

The above was the daughter of Henry JOBSON and Amelia Florence BOX. She was born 9th August 1920. I am not sure whether she was born in India or Ceylon as her father was in the Army and I don't know where he was stationed on that date.
Her mother Amelia was the daughter of George BOX who was also in the Army. He died sometime before Amelia married but I have not been able to trace his wife or his death. I also have not been able to trace Amelia's birth. Cannot find anything in the UK BMD so assume she was born while her father was serving in India. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Have you considered Amelia Florence Box born Gravesend in 2Q 1889 ( mother's maiden name Burroughs) ?

Forget that one - her father was Thomas William Christmas Box, a builder

Hi,
Have you seen Henry Jobsons, born Walworth army record? There is a lot of reading to sort out but it is him as his marriage to Amelia is mentioned and some children and interestingly a letter with the date 9 Aug 1920 mentioned though to do with his service I think, as I said, it takes a bit of reading.

George Godwin Box died at Jhansi, India in November 1902 aged 35.

Per Wiltshire Memorial Inscriptions there an MI at Tetbury Hill cemetery, Malmesbury, which records that he was with the North Staffs regiment.

The Army record refers to Henry Jobson leaving the Army in 1919 to work overseas. A letter dated Sept 1920 states he was employed by the Colonial Govt and also mentions Ceylon Defence Force
