I also have a thread on Australia Roots Chat and so not sure how to link them but what I want to find out is on Charles Clarke marriage cert it states that he was a grazier at Kaukapakapa when he married Euphemia Ross in 1901 in Auckland,, have you got a contact in what department that I can obtain some records if there is any

In NZ terms GRAZIER could have a slightly different usage to Australia. It could mean a pastoral farmer, and therefore an owner of land growing grass for the rasing of animals OR that he rented or leased land, off a farm [land] owner for such purposes. Those with access to the electoral roll for that area and era, should be able to inform you of the details recorded on the rolls. Postal address may or may not precisely indicate the location of the grazing. It could be care of the local Post Office, or a Rural Delivery service where the postie knows each box holder along the roads, BUT the boxes are not numbered.
