 ;D

Sometimes I have seen some significant archives from various Australian institutions treated as though they are part of the US of A and therefore Ancestry makes them available via their World Wide sub but not via .com.au or via Heritage plus sub.

Maybe these things need brought to their attention  ???

Surely if you subscribe to a country, you expect to see the info. from that country when others can see it  ::)

Errr .... My Scottish ancestors maintained they were not English !

JM

And quite correct JM  :)

I'm not English although born in the UK in a different country called SCOTLAND which I've seen written as Scotland, England  ???  ::)

Annie

Added Wales is a different country too within the UK but I've never seen that written as Wales, England (to date)  ;D

We have to acknowledge that some people aren't very good at geography.  I had to chuckle a week or two back when a woman was being interviewed for TV in a street across the Pond and she thought England was in London.

"I've never seen that written as Wales, England"

I have seen it and it is not a new phenomenon.  In fact, it goes back to the days when the United States was still a colony.  Here's the grave of my 7X g-grandfather, buried in 1732 in Gloucester, Massachusetts.  It says he was born in "Wales, England."

Presumably because of his chosen national affiliation, golfer Sandy Lyle's "profile" on the PGA Tour had "Born - Shrewsbury, Scotland".
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.
