raglan barracks minty
« on: Thursday 09 March 17 14:39 GMT (UK) »
Hi
im not sure if this is the right place, i wondered if someone can point me in the right direction-

on the 1881 census Thomas Minty b. 1856 (though on census Mintey) states he was at The Raglan Barracks, Devonport as a private

I have looked on their website but cant find much info- would he have been in the 96th regiment of foot! with the victorian conflicts or boer war- or am i on the completely wrong track!

Any help would be great?

thank you

It was the 13th Light Infantry according to the earlier entries in the census schedule RG11; Piece: 2208; Folio: 93; Page: 1. Also an 1881 newspaper report mentions the 13th Light Infantry at Raglan Barracks.
