Looking on Ancestry Trees, I see that Alfred Cottam's wife Amy Adlard was married previously to William Dales - that marriage was in Withern, 1825 - then she married Alfred Cottam in Willoughby in 1836.  She had a daughter born in 1821 Saltfleetby St Clements. Amy Adlard names Robert Dennis as the father of her daughter Hannah (Lincs Bastardy Cases). I think this one is the Hannah on the 1841 census and the age has been rounded down to 15, who has taken the Cottam name.

I have decided to look back to Robert Banks supposedly born in c1807 in Rotherham. As usual in this search, I've found a Banks Family in Rotherham about the right time but no child called Robert Banks!
Can anyone help with this part of the problem?
