Well done Junket on spotting the two marriages. I've checked the St Cuthbert's Register (1807) and both parties are of the parish of St Cuthbert's Out. This was part of the parish outside the city stretching northwards and would tie in quite nicely with someone living later on in Chewton Mendip. James signs and Frances makes her mark. The witnesses are difficult but I think they read J. Lovell and S. Mullins.
There has been a mistake with the transcription of the 1847 marriage in Wells district. There is a James Clavey on Vol 10 p781 as well as Caroline Ford, but it has been transcribed as p71 on Ancestry and FreeBMD has missed him completely as far as I can see. The image is available on FindMyPast and you can read "781" quite clearly. So you would be quite safe to order this one, if you wish. The marriage is not in the PR of Chewton, and there is nothing in the index of the images of Somerset marriages on Ancestry. It may, of course have taken place in a church not covered in those records or could have been in a Register Office. Sorry I missed this in my earlier replies,
Steve
