Alastair Macleod
« on: Friday 10 March 17 11:46 GMT (UK) »
Looking for this gentleman who lived (and possibly died ) in St. Andrew's Cottage in 1909. I believe this address to be 15, Lauder Road. Edinburgh. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Various early 1900 newspapers mention this address as being a private day school, conducted by the Misses Bell.

Hi,

Can you tell us when he was born & where?

I'm wondering what leads you to think he died at the address given?

Is it possible he was recorded as Alexander as Alastair is gaelic for Alexander?

My geography on Edinburgh isn't great & not knowing a possible age when he died or if he had a middle name there's these;

MACLEOD ALEXANDER
74
1910
685/6 435
Morningside

MCLEOD JOHN ALEXANDER
9
1909
692/2 82
Leith South

MCLEOD ALEXANDER
46
1911
692/2 478
Leith South

There are no entries for anyone named Alastair in all of Scotland 1907 - 1911 with surname MacLeod/McLeod
