Think this might be John’s parents baptisms but not found his baptism or his parents marriage to confirm

John Pryce Birth Date: 11 Apr 1856 Old Monkland,Lanark,Scotland
Father:   Charles Pryce   Mother:   Grace Ward

Agnes Howard Birth Date: 29 Apr 1862 Kirkmichael,Ayr,Scotland
Father:   Matthew Howard Mother:   Mary Watt

It looks as if John George Pryce & Selina Ann Wheat possibly gave another child a middle
using a family surname

MARY WATT BELL born 29 6 1920
Death quarter   4
Death year   2001
District   Bromley
District number   2221B
Register number   B43
Entry number   286
Record set   England & Wales Deaths 1837-2007

Mary W Pryce married  1943 Hendon D K Bell

There's a Private family Tree on anc*y - have you seen this mentions names
Brain/Berand Murphy/De Bie, Agnes aka (Nancy) McKnight Pryce born 1932

I thought Berand's De Bie name range a bell with me now I realize I had posted a reply to your
thread - Feb 2017 Headed Murphy http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=764397.0
have posted link so not to duplicate efforts

and that you posted a message on another thread started by diplodicus (2010) head LUGARD http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=492670.9
quote you from this thread (2012)
Daisy E.G.Lugard born 1921 married  Bernard Joseph Murphy aka Brian Murphy 1939
though there is no decree nisi Daisy married N Eaton in 1955

My interest is that Bernard Joseph was my fathers brother, his real name was
Barend Arnoldus De Bie born in Holland 1915.My fathers name was
Hendrik Leondert De Bie born 1912

Perhaps Agnes M Pryce/Murphy/De Bie's middle name McKnight might turn out to be a family surname further down the line  ???

I think you are worrying too much about the McKnight name?

I have an ancestor whose middle name intrigued me for years.
Turns out to be the maiden name of his maternal grandmother!

Others have both first and second names of family friends - reciprocated by the other family!
So I have a Baker Garrad, a Garrad Baker, and a few other variants!
