Killeavy Upper, Armagh
« on: Saturday 11 March 17 15:44 GMT (UK) »
I have seen this marriage in 1868 in the parish of Upper Killeavy between James (Keefe) and Ellen (McAnally). The date being 12th February 1868. Sadly I haven't been able to find a civil marriage record for them so I'm assuming they didn't bother. This would have given their father's names/occupation etc.

With this being the case is there any way I could find out who their parents were and when/where they were born?

I am assuming you have looked at the baptism records same parish which would show parents?

Hi, yes I have tried too but I have a large range for the year of birth for both of them and not all these years are available to view (I think!)

Baptisms from 22 Oct 1832.
I notice that below their marriage is a Mary McNally, could she be a sibling to Ellen, if so it gives you another baptism to look for which potentially could show parents. Of course they may not have been baptised in Cloghogue, could be   Meigh, Kileen or even Newry

Just looked at the 1901 in the same area there is a James and Mary Keefe, could this be your James/Ellen's son, he is 29 yrs old and their first child was named Ellen. James works in the  Quarry which may mean his father /his grandfather did and that might be another avenue to look at, where the Quarry was, where the people lived and churches they attended, also lists of employees

I know it is going out on a limb, however I have found other information this way when I was hitting a brick wall
