Vellacott Richards family of Georgeham
« on: Saturday 11 March 17 17:54 GMT (UK) »
I am most especially interested in William Vellacott Richards (b. abt 1825, Kentisbury, d. 1905) who was married to Julia Heale Alven.  I believe his father was also named William Vellacott Richards (b. 1796 kentisbury) and that in 1861 they were living together in Incledon House in Georgeham and the senior remained there until at least 1871, but must have died before 1881 when the junior is the head at Incledon house.

I am uncertain of WVR junior's Mother's name and also would like to trace the Vellacott Richards back a bit further but cannot identify WVR's senior's parents. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi
Marriage at Parracombe
William Vellacott Richards of Kentisbury and Elizabeth Crang 30.1.1822
witnesses John and Mary Crang.

She was buried at Georgeham 10.3.1836 aged 38 years

There is a daughter Mary 22.6.1828 at Georgeham

Possible parents marriage Georgham
James Richards of Kentisbury yeoman and Mary Vellacott 30.4.1793

wit William Vellacott and James Howard

James Richards buried Kentisbury 30.5.1832 age 67 He did make a will but I'm not sure if it's survived.
The baptisms for Kentisbury aren't online for the 1790s which may explain  why William Vellacott Richards senior is so hard to find.

There is a freeholders list for Kentisbury
