« on: Tuesday 14 March 17 10:29 GMT (UK) »
Hi
I am looking for the burial place of my great grandmother and some members of her family. Her name was Mary Bailey. She died 5th April 1946 at 4 Peter Street Dublin (her son in laws residence)Both she and her family lived most of their lives in Stoneybatter ,North Circular Road area.I have tried the following cemeteries without success Glasnevin ,Mount Jerome and Deansgrange

Her son William Bailey died 12th April 1951 born 1878 lived all his life in Stoneybatter area last address Arbour Hill, again can find no burial record for him.Anyone got any ideas where they could be buried?

Have you looked for a newspaper notice for either death.

I've just been doing that !
Mary has a death notice in the evening Herald but it just says that the funeral is private and no details of the cemetery.
I found that around this time my family (all inner city Dublin) stopped using Glasnevin and for some reason after the 1930's they are all buried out in St Fintans, Sutton. (and a few in tiny churchyards in Malahide and Kinseley  as well) perhaps it was a trend ?
William's says that he was buried in "military cemetery, Blackhorse Avenue"
His death cert says he died in Grangegorman Hospital so maybe they had a section at the cemetery or he had a military background ?

Thanks for the replies. The Bailey family in Peter Street in 1911 is interesting but not sure if they are related.
The family appear on the census as follows

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Dublin/Arran_Quay/Grangegorman_Place/1338562/
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Dublin/Glasnevin/Stable_Lane/16617/
After 1911  they lived on North Circular Road for a number of years then lived in Arbour Hill

Did not know William or Thomas Bailey had military backgrounds. They did have another brother Patrick who was  so I will look at that.
4 Peter Street was the residence of Mary Baileys son in law Henry Reardon The house belonged to Jacobs biscuit factory where he worked as a caretaker.

Mary Baileys husband (Patrick) died  1921 is buried in Deansgrange in a grave with other persons who are unrelated.
