Alexander THOMSON and Margaret (nee ROLLER) Thomson in Yester
« on: Wednesday 15 March 17 17:23 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find information on this couple, but I have hit a bit of a brick wall.

What I do know is that they had two children, both of which were born in Yester.

John Thomson b. 08 Aug 1819
Alexander Thomson b. 10 Mar 1822, m. Anne Inglis in Melrose, Roxburgh on 02 Jun 1854.

According to Alexander Jr's death record, his father was a soldier.

By the time of the 1861 census Alexander, born 1822, would have been 39. A free search on Scotlandspeople brings up 6 who might fit the bill. The one which might be "yours" is in the Registration District of Ladhope, in the County of Roxburgh - His wife was from Melrose in Roxburghshire, so they might have stayed on in that area.  6 credits will let you see that online.

Ah, think I've got the wrong end of the stick here. You want to find out more about the PARENTS of this Alexander (b 1822).  Ok, forget that!  Back to the drawing board!
