1879 death notice?/obituary?.....
« on: Thursday 16 March 17 05:23 GMT (UK) »
Richard BATE was a Registrar of Births, Marriages & Deaths for many years from approximately 1838 for the sub-district of Cainham (Caynham) - Ludlow, Shropshire.

He died at Cadbury, Burford, Tenbury on 23.11.1879.

I'm wondering if there may have been a death notice and or an obituary in a local newspaper?

His probate gives his occupation as Farmer.
Census information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

Hello Rosie99,

Thank you for your response. Yes, he was a farmer as well as a registrar. By the time he made his will in 1878 I'm guessing that he would have retired as a registrar.
