Thanks so much keyboard86 & JJen. You sure have been busy while I was at work!

The 2 boys that I was told were in the photo, immigrated to Canada with their family in 1906, so this photo would be before then. The thing is, they were only 7 & 3 when they immigrated, and the boys look much older than that. I'm hoping to nail down when the photo could have been taken, to help sort this out.

Thanks so much for the great leads you have given me.  :)

Hi again, just spotted your reply,  just trying to figure out how a business that looks to have been operating c 1881/1901 has a studio folder of children aged 7 & 3 when emigrating to Canada in 1906, and by all accounts they look older in the photograph??

As an aside anyone spot Ralph b 1885 Alverstoke with widowed mother Elizabeth Jane in 1891/1901, he appears 1911?

Exactly!!! I don't believe the boys in the photo are who I was told they are... which is why I'm trying to sort out the photographer, etc.

If that death JJen found is this photographer, he was dead before the oldest boy was born.

EDIT That is one of the reasons I am enquiring of Ralph/Elizabeth Jane in 1891 at least, to confirm Elizabeth J was indeed a Widow?!

Interesting thought ...  You're better at this than I. I hadn't thought to look for that.

The boys are said to be Arthur (b:1898) & Bernard Burroughs (b:1903), living in Portsmouth area before they emigrated. Here's the photo....

That's the one!

Hubby's uncle is sure the boys are Arthur & Bernard. I thought perhaps they went back to England when they were older & had the photo done then, but that doesn't jive with the info on the photographer.
