Can anyone tell me how to obtain a copy of a will for which I have the date of Probate, date of death  name of deceased and ref number  from Durham University Library Special Collections? I found details online but there is no info re obtaining copies. Any idea of cost?

Assuming the will was dated prior to 1858 - you will have to ask the Record Office for a price

After 1858 - cost is £10.00

Just a thought - if the will was post 1858 and you've ordered it, then you have 30 days (I think) in which to view or download it.  Reminded because I've just received my second reminder from GRO that I have only 1 day left in which to view or to download.  First reminder was 5 days to go!

If the will is pre-1858 you could try searching for it here, and get an online image free http://familyrecords.dur.ac.uk/nei/data/simple.php

Added more info on online images here http://familyrecords.dur.ac.uk/nei/data/images.php

As an addition to the other replies ,if the date is pre 1858, I'd start here
http://familyrecords.dur.ac.uk/nei/data/simple.php

Search for the surname, find the relevant entry and follow the links which will take you to the images on Family Search (and the details/instructions about the page number etc as it doesn't always take you directly to the relevant entry)
