No birthyears given and no information as to when the first child was born to give any clues as to their marriage

No names/birthyears/birthplaces for any of the other children yet you are asking for more info about them?

Re: parents marriage.   Have you looked for a birth registration on freebmd for any of the 6 children you mention as you can now look for mothers maiden name on the GRO site using the freebmd info

https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/indexes_search.asp

Have you checked freebmd for marriages for the other children and looked for them on later censuses?

This would appear to be the family described in your post, but Margaret was 9 months in 1861, not 9 years, so is it the correct family?

using the GRO index for mother's maiden name, Margaret looks to have been Lloyd - maiden name for registration of Evan 1870, Margaret 1860 and Sarah Anne 1856 - leading to this marriage

John Edwards dec qtr 1851 Aberystwyth vol 27 pg 35 with Margaret Lloyd on the same page

Thank you very much Osprey.
Sorry it has taken me so long to respond to your helpful posts.
You have got the right family. I wrongly stated Margaret's year of birth as 1852 (actually her sister Mary's birth year) - she was born in 1860. The info that mother Margaret was a Lloyd is a bit of a breakthrough. Thanks again!
