WETHERILL OF BARNSLEY
« on: Monday 20 March 17 09:50 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for the birth of Robert Wetherill born abt.1799 in Yorkshire. The census says Yorkshire County but the children seem to have been born in the Barnsley area.
I have all other info. on him like death, census and what happened to most of his children but it's just that I can't get any further up the tree.
He was married in Barnsley to Sarah Gaunt 24/03/1824 but the record I have doesn't list his father.
I know it's not much to go on but wonder if there is a birth record for him locally. Also Totley Bridge Yorkshire is mentioned as the birth place of his son.

Many Thanks

There is a baptism in the BT's for St Olave, York - Robert son of William Wetherill, farmer of Marygate and Amelia.  Born 3 March, baptised 5 March 1799.  :-\

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Thank you for this, it sounds good. Are there any signs of more children of William and Amelia?
