Thomas Clark marriage Michigan about 1840
« on: Monday 20 March 17 14:53 GMT (UK) »
Looking for a marriage for a Thomas Clark born 31 JAN 1811  Invernessshire, Scotland.

Information so far indicates he married a Mary A (unknown maiden name) in or around Clinton, Macomb, Michigan.  His occupation was Baker.  The 1851 US or Michigan census has his family as Clarke

Their first child William A Clark was born about 1844 in Canada according to one census so perhaps a Michigan marriage is a wild goose chase. :-).  However, we have found no marriage record in Ontario for Thomas and Mary and cannot find any birth records for children.

Daughter Johanna is listed as Michigan born about 1849 and Isabella born about 1851 in Michigan.  We know Isabella married a Robert Allan, possibly a baker, 17 Jul 1873 in London, Ontario

We know Thomas returned to Canada by the 1881 Canada census and that his spouse had passed away, date and location unknown.  Thomas passed in or near Wroxeter, Ontario and is buried with his sister,Janet "Jessie" Clark, in the Wroxeter cemetery

Thanks for the reply.  I examined the document but cannot see details that would prove or disprove that it is the Thomas Clark in question.

Death document does not provide any details on spouse and no births so far for any of the children
