Auckland Archives Look Up Request

Hi I am wondering if anyone would be willing to visit the Auckland archives for me + view/copy some files as we have had a dead end brick wall in our family tree for far too long😑 There are 2 files needing to be viewed for Andrew Tait. If anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated. I can send pics of the archives files needed...

14 files is a pretty big ask. I note that there is one file at Archives for a Jane Palmer Tait which can be viewed and or downloaded for free. Have you checked at familysearch.org to see if any probated wills are available there?

Thanks Minniehaha, sorry I'm new to this so bear with me, I can't seem to find the downloadable file for Jane Palmer Tait?Is there a link you could help me out with? I can narrow the 14 down to a few that should be really helpful ☺

Hello Kimgrace 78, and welcome.

There are already two unanswered lookup requests on this board for Archives New Zealand's Auckland office, so I suspect that no one is available to respond to them.

It might be necessary to request copies of the files direct from the Auckland office.

For future reference and from my personal experience, anyone potentially prepared to carry out look-ups can find it demoralizing when faced with a request for so many files at once.

The best thing is to take the long view and request only one or two files at a time (only one if it's likely to be large or difficult to track down), promptly thank the individual who found the information for you, wait a month or so, and request another.
